Where To Find The Monkeys
Location: The monkeys can be found at Khao Plu cave and temple, a short distance west of Pha Thiew town, Pha Thiew district.
Directions: From Chumphon town centre head north along highway 3180 and follow the signs to Pa Thiew town (written as "Pa Thiu" on all the road signs). The route takes you north-east past Thung Wua Laen beach. Once you reach Pha Thiew town, look for the signs to Khao Plu.
Khao Plu cave and temple are around 45km from the centre of Chumphon town.

The charming Spectacled Langur has dark grey to blackish fur, becoming lighter grey on the crown. The skin on the face is dark grey, the chin and lips pinkish, and the eyes surrounded with a thick white ring. The young are bright yellow. The species occurs in a variety of habitats including coastal and erine forests. They are active in early morning and late afternoon when family groups of around 10 individuals may descend to clearings in the forest or to the river's edge to feed on young leaves and shoots. The species ranges from southern Burma and Thailand to Peninsular Malaysia.
