How To Get There

Location: Sa Pli sub-district, Pha Thiew district
Directions: From Chumphon follow the signs to Thung Wua Laen beach! This will take you north out of Chumphon along the railway line (crossing it a couple of times) along highway 3180. At Ban Sa Pli crossroads turn right and follow the road to the beach front. It's about 17km in all.

Thung Wua Laen is probably the best beach near Chumphon. At the weekends and during holidays it tends to get very crowded, but at other times it's amazingly peaceful. A road runs the length of the beach, and along the road are many places to eat.
The beach is wide (at low tide), sandy, and shallow, and is ideal for swimming (especially at high tide). At the southern end of the beach there are areas suitable for snorkelling and scuba diving.
